Maggie’s receives generous donation from Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners
Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners have generously donated the £20,000 prize money they received for winning the 2009 Stirling Prize with their design for Maggie’s London, located beside the Charing Cross Hospital in Hammersmith.
Maggie’s London, opened in May 2008, was awarded the highly regarded prize by the Royal Institute of British Architects in October.
Maggie’s will be reinvesting the prize money so as to be able to continue to offer its wide ranging support to anybody affected by cancer.
Laura Lee, Maggie’s Chief Executive, expressed her delight at the news. "This gift can help to continue the valuable work that goes on inside a centre. Thank you so much to Richard, Ivan and everyone at Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners for giving Maggie's their £20,000 Stirling prize money. We are so fortunate to have had such a magnificent bunch of people creating our London centre."
