All Aboard the Maggie’s Express!
Maggie’s Cotswolds invites you to re‐live the ‘Golden Age of Steam’ on the award‐winning Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway on Saturday 15 August.
The 20 mile round trip, which sets off from Cheltenham Racecourse, will take you through stunning scenery, giving you optimal views of the Cotswolds, Vale of Evesham and Malvern Hills. With a 45 minute stop in Toddington, the headquarters of the GWR, you will be able to take photographs and wander around the adjacent Toddington Garden Centre, not to mention having the option to visit the footplate, station shop and museum coach.
You will be given first‐class treatment throughout, with seating in a reserved carriage and a selection of tea, coffee and delicious homemade cakes included on the homeward journey. Plus, now that the summer holidays are here don’t forget to bring the kids along – there will be a special quiz with prizes just for them.
Lisa Robinson, Community Fundraiser for Maggie’s Cotswolds said: “It really does promise to be a fantastic day and with the Mayor of Cheltenham in attendance, you’ll be in good company! This event comes at a crucial point for Maggie’s as we continue to raise funds for our new centre which will be built on the grounds of the Cheltenham General Hospital. The centre will be accessible for everyone within our 3 counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire and with construction due to start shortly, we are excited about opening our doors to the public next year.”
Tickets are £15 for adults and £12 for children and can be booked through Lisa Robinson at lisa.robinson@maggiescentres.org, or on (01242) 250611.
