Ortak supports Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres this Christmas
720 jewellery sets created to represent the number of cases of cancer diagnosed each day
Ortak, Scotland’s leading designer and manufacturer of gold and silver jewellery, has launched a new Christmas fundraising initiative in honour of Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres.
Ortak’s designers have created an exclusive Christmas collection to help raise money for the charity with only 720 sets available - representing the number of new cases of cancer that are diagnosed in the UK each day.
Earlier in the year Ortak launched an eight piece collection in polished silver and ‘hayfield’ green hot enamel in honour of ‘Love Maggie’s Day’ – the designs were inspired by initial architect’s sketches for Maggie’s centres and 10% from each set sold donated to the charity.
The new and exclusive Christmas set is priced at £120 and £20 from each one that is sold will go towards Maggie’s. The two piece box set features earrings and a pendant in polished silver and striking cold glass red enamel that can be purchased online at www.ortak.co.uk or in Ortak stores across the UK.
Gemma McDonald, corporate partnerships manager at Maggie’s, said: “We are delighted with the new limited edition ‘Maggie’s’ set and the extended contribution Ortak is giving to Maggie’s. Without the help of companies like Ortak we would be unable to fund the development of new centres across the UK and are extremely grateful for their continued support.”
With 720 new cases of cancer diagnosed everyday in the UK, it is crucial for continued support from companies and individual to allow Maggie’s to continue providing vital services to cancers sufferers and their families.
Ortak’s Managing Director, Alistair Gray, said: “Working with Maggie’s Centres over the past year has been an honour – the work they carry out is remarkable and we are thrilled to be able to do our bit to help. The new limited edition set not only highlights the number of new cancer cases diagnosed everyday in the UK but supports the continued growth of this amazing charity.”
Maggie's is an independent, registered charity providing free emotional and practical support to those living with cancer, their friends and family. Working to create a network of cancer caring centres across the UK to deliver community based cancer support – Maggie’s relies of funding to expand its portfolio of care centres.
