Staff at Scottish and Southern Energy raised a fantastic £25,000 for Maggie’s Dundee at a charity golf day.
SSE is a long term supporter of Maggie's and the charity golf day was an excellent opportunity for staff at the company to build upon the successes of previous events and offering those talking part the opportunity to play on one of the country’s most challenging courses.
In contrast to today's wintery weather, Kingsbarns was blessed with bright sunshine and warm temperatures, which seemed to drive people's generosity - a remarkable £8,000 was raised on the day alone.
SSE Finance Director Gregor Alexander said: "Everyone at Maggie’s does a remarkable job and their work is very close to the hearts of many SSE staff. I’d like to thank everyone who took part this year in helping raise these much needed funds for the charity, as this will allow Maggie’s to keep on helping those affected by cancer. We all enjoyed the remarkable weather, I only hope the chap who won the day at the Ryder Cup in our raffle remembered to pack his waterproofs!”
