Maggie's Patron and Newsnight presenter Kirsty Wark has officially launched a brand new charity campaign for the Glasgow Restauranteurs Association (GRA) - Give a Fork for Maggie's
Kirsty visited Maggie’s Glasgow, along with Anthea Jackson, Head of the GRA, and Ryan James, Owner of Two Fat Ladies at the Buttery to discuss the campaign, which is expected to raise in excess of £100,000 for Maggie’s Glasgow.
Kirsty, who is due to attend the the GRA's annual awards dinner at the Citizens Theatre on Sunday 5 December, Anthea and Ryan were also joined by Anthea’s husband, Mark Jackson, who has cancer - both Mark and Anthea have used Maggie’s Glasgow for support.
Give a Fork for Maggie’s will run for the duration of 2011 with all GRA members set the challenge of raising a minimum of £1,000 each for the campaign. GRA comprises of around 70 of the best culinary venues across Glasgow, including, Michael Caine's Fine Dining Restaurant, Cafe Gandolfi, Rogano, Two Fat Ladies at the Buttery, Hotel Du Vin at One Devonshire Gardens, and many more.
As part of the campaign, well known personalities and celebrity chefs will be encouraged to show they Give a Fork for Maggie’s by being photographed with a fork in their kitchen and to then send in a fork to the GRA.
