good friends & beautiful buildings & hot tea & live music & tired legs & hope
Register your place in London Night Hike 2012 today!
We are delighted to announce that the London Night Hike will take place on Friday 21st September 2012. In it’s 8th year, the London Night Hike is a 10 or 20 mile walk through the capital city. Coinciding with the festival run by our partners Open House London, this nocturnal challenge gives you the chance to visit a number of landmark buildings and iconic structures.
The route is currently being confirmed and will be on the website soon, however we can confirm that a stop at Maggie’s West London centre will be included. In the past, buildings such as City Hall, South Bank Centre, and The Royal Institute of British Architects have opened their doors to participants. With food and entertainment at each of our featured buildings we’ll make sure you have a fabulous Friday night and are looked after every step of the way. Beginning at 7.30pm, the Night Hike is a fun challenge with a great atmosphere, and an ideal opportunity to fundraise with family and friends.
Every penny you raise will go towards changing the lives of people affected by cancer. By signing up for the London Night Hike you will be supporting our aim to have 15 Maggie’s centres across the UK by 2014, extending our network of emotional and practical support to all those who need it.
Registration costs £35 per person for those taking part in the 10 mile event, and £40 per person for 20 mile Night Hikers. But if you decide to walk in a team of 4 or more you make a saving of £5 per person.
In recognition of your last year’s feedback we have reviewed and reduced the minimum fundraising target for 2012 to just £185 per person for 10 mile hikers, and £285 per person for the 20 mile hikers. We’ll provide you with a fundraising support pack and regular newsletters with lots of ideas to help you reach or even smash your fundraising target.
Why not have a look at last year’s video to whet your appetite or take a look at our fundraising guide for lots of ideas from asking your company to match your fundraising, bake cakes and many more! By far the easiest way to fundraise is online by setting up your personal JustGiving page.
Last year our intrepid hikers raised over £500,000 – enough to fund one Maggie’s Centre for a whole year - so be part of the 8th London Night Hike and help change the lives of those affected by cancer.
