Benefits information talk

Dealing with a diagnosis of cancer can be a difficult time in anyone’s life but this can be made more stressful if you are worrying about money issues.

With this in mind, Maggie’s Lanarkshire is hosting a benefits information talk to provide information on the services provided by Macmillan and CAB in Partnership (Mac CAB) in Lanarkshire on Wednesday 31 August at 12.30 to 14.30. A light lunch will be provided for those attending the session.

The talk and informal discussion will be lead by Dawn Kane from Mac CAB who will be able to answer general questions about what help is available including assistance with debt management, housing, employment, benefits and grants. Dawn Kane said, ‘Money problems can seem harder to deal with when you are also dealing with your own or a loved ones cancer diagnosis. This kind of informal session is the perfect opportunity to find out what kind of help is available.’

Maggie’s Lanarkshire is a homely, welcoming place where people with cancer, their family and friends can receive the support they need. Maggie’s is open for people to drop-in for information, emotional and psychological support and to develop skills that might help them to live more positively with their cancer.

For more information or to book a place for the talk, please drop into Maggie’s Lanarkshire beside Wishaw General Hospital on weekdays from 9am – 5pm, call on 01698 358 392 or email lanarkshire@maggiescentres.org.
