Maggie's Highlands timetable

All our services are free.  Please call 01463 706306 or email highlands@maggiescentres.org for further information or to pre-book a session. 

You can drop in to the centre at any time.  Unless otherwise indicated, no pre-booking is required.

Brain Tumour Support Group - Open to brain tumour patients, carers and family members and provides support, informationa and an opportunity to meet with others.

The groups run on:
Monday 21 May between 6pm and 7.30pm
Monday 25 June with Oncology Physiotherapist Susan Nuttall, who will talk about keeping active between 2pm and 3.30pm
Monday 23 July between 6pm and 7.30pm. With this group, light refreshments will be provided and reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Monday 13 August from 3pm. Mr Bhatt, Neuro-Oncology Surgeon, returns to the group to talk about recent advances in neuro-oncology surgery, including a question and answer session. Mr Bhatt has kindly agreed to return following his session in April. All are welcome.

Cancer genetics and family history workshop - Tuesday 22 May 2012 - Are you concerned that the cancers that have occurred in yourself or your family may be due to your family history? Or that you or your family may be at increased risk of cancer because of the family history?

The Workshop will aim to explain:-
What is a cancer family history?
What does it mean to have an increased risk of a cancer?
How a risk assessment is made
Screening and genetic testing options

Please speak to a member of the team if you would like to book a place on any of the above courses.

The next meeting will be held at 5.30pm on Monday 11 June (the first Monday of the month is a public holiday). Susan or Cathie, Colorectal Specialist Nurses, will be leading the group, so this is your opportunity to the experts any questions you have   *
