Local Fundraising Events

Help Maggie’s Fife provide a unique programme of information, practical and emotional support to people with cancer and their loved ones.

  • 'Sentimental Journey' concerts

    Linda Ballingal and Grace Black will be performing a series of concerts titled ‘Sentimental Journey’, helping to raise funds for Maggie’s Fife and Glenrothes Area and Heritage Centre. Theses concerts will take place on the following dates:

    • 25th May, St Ninian’s Church, Glenrothes
    • 16th June, Village Hall, Star of Markinch
    • 14th July, Town Hall, Markinch

    Tickets are £8 and the concerts will begin at 7.30pm.

  • Twilight Walk 2012

    Twilight Walkers in 2011

    Take part in this years Twilight Walk, registration is still amazing value at only £5.  Walkers can choose to take part in 1, 5 or 10 miles around Glenrothes.  Registration opens at 6:30 with the walk starting at 7:30 from the Lomond Centre, Glenrothes.   • SEStran Two Capital Cycle Ride

    The SEStran Two Capitals Cycle Ride is a non-competitive, all-age, all-abilities event that aims to promote cycling for all. This annual event which was first run in 2006 is rapidly becoming one of the biggest events of its kind in South East Scotland.

    Maggie’s is one of the nominated charities, please take part and raise funds for people affected by cancer. Register today by visiting the Two Capitals website.

  • ACA Sports and Raith Rovers Football Club

    ACA Sports and Raith Rovers have teamed up to support Maggie's! £2 from every Rovers away shirt sold will be donated to Maggie’s from ACA Sports.

    You can buy the away strip from ACA Sports' website and their High Street store in Kirkcaldy.

    We are also looking for eight volunteers to help with collection at the match between Raith and Ayr United on Saturday 12 November. If you have a winning smile, bubbly personality and want to help Maggie’s raise funds and awareness get in touch with Tu.

  • Fife Diamond Garden Festival, supporting Scotland's Gardens Scheme

    Fife Branch of Scotland’s Gardens is planning a garden festival, the Fife Diamond Garden Festival, in honour of Her Majesty the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Friday 18 to Sunday 20 May 2012, shortly before the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Included is a variety of special gardens, some old favourites and some open for the first time, across Fife. The weekend will raise funds for SGS charities which include Maggie’s and also for AICR (the Association for International Cancer Research).

    Come along for what promises to be a memorable weekend and excellent fund-raiser for these worthwhile charities. Tickets are limited and will be pre-sold. A ticket will be the passport to a weekend of garden delight: it might make an interesting and unusual Christmas present to give to a friend. For more info email s.a.lorimore@dundee.ac.uk.

    Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres are one of Scotland's Garden Scheme's main beneficiaries please visit as many gardens as you can that are opening for SGS and by doing so supporting Maggie's Centres. To see a list of open gardens go to www.gardensofscotland.org.

    Anyone from a toddler upwards can do a high-5 it's a celebratory gesture, it’s fun, it makes you smile... and it takes just seconds.

    High-5 Maggie’s revolves around the number five and doing high fives - have a look at five fundraising ideas for that you can do to get involved!

    Donate £5 by texting MAGG05 £XX to 70070 where the XX is the amount you wish to donate and the ‘0’ is a zero. It is free from most major networks and your donation will be added to your next bill.

  • Maggie's Pudding Club

    We're looking for people to organise a Maggie’s Pudding Club and raise money for Maggie’s at the same time. You could do this in any way you want… perhaps you'll approach a local restaurant and get them to donate some delicious puddings and then charge your friends to come along and taste them. Or maybe you'll hold a pudding competition, charging people to enter their pudding with the winner receiving a fabulous prize?

  • Who needs a Munro when you can Kilimanjaro

    March 2012

    With a name like Brian Munro he was always destining to climb mountains! Brian Munro undertook a challenge of life time this year climbing Kilimanjaro the highest free standing mountain in the world at 19,341feet. If the climb wasn’t enough of a challenge Brian inspired and motivated family, friends and colleagues to help him raise £10,698.95 in aid of Maggie’s Fife. He is picture above with Tu Edwards and his friends Beaton and Jean Dingwall who both benefit from Maggie’s.

    Maggie’s would like to say a massive thank you to Brian and all those who supported him for this amazing donation. These kinds of donations are essential to keeping Maggie’s going!

  • Mark Ritchie's Rust to Rome Challenge

    A huge thank you to Mark Ritchie for raising £677 from his Rust to Rome Challenge so far, this is due to take place next July so he will certainly have more to come in! If you would like to take part in this adventure of a lifetime visit http://rust2rome.com/index.html and take part in aid of Maggie’s too. On Rust to Rome It’s you and your car taking to the road on a three thousand mile journey through Europe. Sound easy? It’s not. You’re doing it in a car that cost less than £500 in foreign countries on challenging roads.

  • B-sharp for Charity

    Jen and Kevin - B Sharp for Charity

    The total collected for by 'B Sharp for Charity' (Kevin and Jen) is a staggering £1,789. Absolutely AMAZING! The brother and sister duo recorded a CD. Last year after both their uncle and cousin suffered from cancer, the duo realised the crucial assistance cancer charities provide and how funds can limit the care and help they give. A huge thank you to Kevin, Jen and everyone who support them and Maggie's in raising such a great amount! Well done!

  • 5th Anniversary Dinner - Maggie's Fife

    A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to Maggie’s Fife’s 5th Anniversary Dinner. A special thanks to our guests of honour Gordon and Sarah Brown, our host Cathy MacDonald, the dinner committee Tanya Scoon, Pamela Caira and Marilyn Livingstone, Adam Smith College, Fife Free Press and all our sponsors. The event was a great success raising nearly £17,000! We were able to raise such a fantastic amount from the generosity of local businesses donating their services or prizes and the kindness of those who attended on the night.
