Spin cycle
Jeannie Hunter firmly believes that choosing the right form of exercise can help improve your fitness and your sense of wellbeing.
And in her life away from SG's Education Curriculum Division, she has plenty of time to see the all-round benefits physical exercise brings to others.
Jeannie works with local Edinburgh company, LifesCycle, Scotland's first dedicated indoor cycling (Spinning) studio. Her passion for exercise and its associated benefits has always been something Jeannie, pictured left, is keen to share.
"I have always tried to encourage colleagues to come along to fitness sessions with me," she says. "I really believe that it helps alleviate the stress of work, or just of daily life. No matter how tired you are, an exercise session always seems to rejuvenate you.
"Everybody, young and old, needs to stay active in order to maintain good health. You'll find that you feel good about yourself, have more energy, sleep better and cope better with stress and anxiety."
On August 28 and 29 from 9am to 7pm, LifesCycle will be opening its doors to allow everyone a chance to give LifeCycle a try and help raise money for Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres.
"During our open weekend there will be a chance to experience our unique approach to Spinning, which aims to make exercise a more uplifting experience. There will also be taster classes, Teen Spin, races and raffles. There's something for everyone, so please come along."
