Spa in the city raises £4,500 for Maggie’s Edinburgh
Guests at Bright Grey’s spa spectacular event on Wednesday night (6 October) were pampered, preened and polished to help raise funds for Maggie’s Edinburgh. The event organised by Bright Grey’s charity committee was attended by 175 people and raised £4,500.
An army of massage therapists, hairstylists and make-up artists attended to guests while comedian Craig Hill provided the laughs.
The money raised from the spa evening will help Maggie’s Edinburgh to fund their essential programme of emotional and practical support to help people to build a life with, through and beyond a cancer diagnosis.
Marion Taylor, Fundraising Co-ordinator for Maggie’s Edinburgh said:
“This is a fantastic amount of money to have raised. Maggie’s rely totally on voluntary donations and, therefore, fundraising events like this help us support the 19,000 visitors we have each year, who come through the doors at the Edinburgh Centre.”
Fiona Holmes, PR Officer at Bright Grey said:
“The spa evening was a fun way to raise money but at the same time highlighting the brilliant work the charity does, in supporting people living with cancer from across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.
“I’d like to thank everyone who made the event such a success, especially our pampering experts and Craig Hill, who all gave their time for free to help raise money for this fantastic cause.”
