A Christmas Donation from Taiwan
December 2011

On behalf of the government and people of Taiwan (Republic of China), Mr. Steven Reyyuan Chu, Director General of Taipei Representative Office in the U.K., Edinburgh Office, made a donation of £1,000 to Maggie’s Edinburgh before Christmas.
Director General Chu presented the cheque to Mr. Andrew Anderson, the head of Maggie’s Edinburgh Centre in the afternoon of 20 December 2011. As a pancreatic cancer survivor, Director General Chu commended what the Maggie’s Centre Edinburgh has achieved in providing essential practical and emotional support for those living with cancer and their families. Compares to the government of Taiwan and its people’s contribution to the charity work at home and abroad, this is a very small grant. But it represents their hearts to support cancer patients and their families.
The Taipei Representative Office in Edinburgh invited members of Maggie’s Edinburgh Centre for a dinner on 14 September 2011. Mr. Chu made a briefing about relations between Scotland and Taiwan. For more information of the Taipei Representative Office, please see http://www.roc-taiwan.org/uk/edi or email reception.troedi@gmail.com.Edinburgh Telford College
